About My Blog.

Welcome! This is "Catatonic Digressions."
Most readers don't understand my blog's title. It's an old inside joke from a forum long gone. I was going to change it, but since it's been "confusing" for so long, I decided to leave it. Don't worry about what it means, the content of the blog is what matters...or not

Unfortunately, my blog isn't what I set out for it to be. A sick woman in Orleans, MA began stalking me in 2007 on Myspace. Since that time, this woman obsessed over me to the point of having the police come to her home and threaten to confiscate her laptop. She is a racist and anti-Semite.I could no longer blog freely, knowing this nutbag was just going to take the photos I'd post and put them on a child exploitation website.

This site is only up for the information it has that others might need to know about. That information is about "Seal Shepherd" aka Michael McDade, Kat McAboy aka Marilyn McAboy and Veronika Hompo, a self-proclaimed Nazi.

I'm a real person. I'm real and I don't pretend to be someone I'm not. After years of putting up with online abuse by manipulative, pathological liars, attention whores or narcissists, I've had it. Don't bother me with pathetic drama. I have no time for these types of people and their need to absorb others' time and attention.

This blog is no longer used. I've retired it for the most part unless something very important comes up.

The Japanese Whaling Fleet Leaves the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary
Operation Divine Wind is over! The Japanese whalers are going home!
The Japanese whaling fleet has left the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary and they are heading home.  “Once Captain Peter Hammerstedt and his crew on the Bob Barker closed in on theNisshin Maru on March 5th, the whaling season was effectively over for the season,” said Captain Paul Watson on the Sea Shepherd flagship Steve Irwin recently returned and now berthed in Williamstown, Victoria, Australia.
Since March 1st, the Bob Barker has followed the Nisshin Maru as they headed steadily northwestward. The Japanese harpoon vessels have stopped tailing the Bob Barker. The fleet has left the waters of the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary, according to Captain Peter Hammarstedt. The Japanese government security vessel, Shonan Maru #2, has been spotted by fishing vessels at thirty degrees South, which is due east of Brisbane, Australia indicating that the vessel is well on its way back to Japan.

Photo: Billy DangerIt has been a long and difficult campaign and although handicapped by the temporary loss of the scout vessel theBrigitte Bardot, the Steve Irwin and the Bob Barker were able to chase the Japanese whaling fleet for more than 17,000 miles, giving them little time to kill whales. In addition, two of the three harpoon vessels spent more time tailing the two Sea Shepherd ships than killing whales.
“The kill figures will not be released by Japan until April, but in my opinion they will not get over 50% for certain and my prediction is it will not be above 30%. Not as good as last season, but much better than all the previous years.”  Said Captain Paul Watson. “It has been a successful campaign. There are hundreds of whales swimming free in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary that would now be dead if we had not been down there for the last three months. That makes us very happy indeed."
The Bob Barker will return to Hobart, Tasmania, the Brigitte Bardot is completing repairs in Fremantle, and theSteve Irwin is now berthed in Williamstown.
In December 2012, if the Japanese whaling fleet returns to the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society will launch Operation Cetacean Justice with four ships, two helicopters, four UAV (drones), and 120 volunteers.
“If the Japanese whalers return, Sea Shepherd will return. We are committed to the defense of the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary.” Said Captain Paul Watson. “No matter how long it takes, no matter how risky or expensive. The word “sanctuary” actually means something to us and that something is worth fighting for.”

Japan Cites Sea Shepherd as Reason for Killing Whales

The Sea Shepherd ships Steve Irwin and Bob Barker have now had the illegal Japanese whaling processing ship, Nisshin Maru, on the run for two weeks. No whales have has been killed since February 5th.

Three weeks remain in the whaling season, and the Sea Shepherd ships have fuel reserves to continue the chase. The Bob Barker was refitted prior to purchase and has fuel capacity four times what it was designed for.
“I believe the continued running of the Nisshin Maru from East to West and back East again is their attempt to run us out of fuel,” said Captain Paul Watson, “I think they are now surprised that we are still on their tail and continuing to disrupt their illegal whaling operations.” With the Shonan Maru No. 2 disengaged to transport Captain Peter Bethune to Japan, this removes the fourth harpoon boat from the fleet.
“I think we can guarantee now that the Japanese whaling fleet will fail to get their kill quota by 30% to 55% based on past observations of Sea Shepherd disruptions,” said Captain Watson, “They will not be seeing any profits for this season.”
Mr. Masayuki Komatsu, the former Japanese whaling commissioner who once referred to Minke whales as the “cockroaches” of the sea, has warned Japan not to retreat from whaling in Antarctica because it would be handing a decisive victory for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. “Our minister said that they are going to retreat from Antarctica, Sea Shepherd must be happier," Komatsu said.
“If the only reason that Japan wishes to continue whaling is because they refuse to be seen backing down from Sea Shepherd than that is truly pathetic and extremely petty on the part of the Japanese government,” said Captain Watson, “What Komatsu is really saying is that we are humiliating Japan by effectively disrupting their illegal poaching activities. If it’s now all about saving face now that they’ve already lost, then they should retreat while they still have half a face left.”
The Sea Shepherd ships will be pursuing the Japanese fleet this weekend during the visit to Australia by Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada.
The Japanese fleet is staying just outside the boundaries of the Australian Antarctic Territorial waters (EEZ) most likely for diplomatic reason during the Okada visit. This move can be viewed as an unofficial recognition of the EEZ. In 2008, the Australian Federal Court ruled that Japan could not kill whales inside the waters of the EEZ. The Japanese whaling fleet is in contempt of that Federal Court order.

Sea Shepherd Has Shut Down Illegal Japanese Whaling

Sea Shepherd Has Shut Down Illegal Japanese Whaling

Steve Irwin Joins Pursuit of Nisshin Maru

Position:  63 Degrees 43 Minutes South   81 Degrees 26 Minutes East

The Sea Shepherd ship Steve Irwin joined the Sea Shepherd ship Bob Barker this morning at 0700 Hours (Sydney time). Both Sea Shepherd ships are now on the tail of the Japanese factory ship Nisshin Maru.

The Japanese fleet was running fast to the Northeast not knowing that the Steve Irwin was on a course of Southwest coming directly for them. With the fleet doing 15 knots, and the Steve Irwin doing 15 knots, the Steve Irwin and the whaling fleet closed the gap at 30 knots cutting the rendezvous time in half.

The Steve Irwin sat motionless by an iceberg for two hours at a distance of thirty miles to allow the Nisshin Maru to continue towards it. At a distance of only three miles, the Steve Irwin got underway and intercepted the Nisshin Maru.

As the Steve Irwin passed by the Nisshin Maru, the factory ship turned on their water cannons and were surprised when the Steve Irwin responded with a more powerful water cannon that had a couple of the whalers diving for the bridge doors as the frigid water struck their bridge wing deck.

The Steve Irwin is presently tailing the Nisshin Maru a few cable lengths and slightly to the port side of the factory ship. Across from the Steve Irwin, the Bob Barker is tailing the Nisshin Maru slightly to the starboard side.

Following in the wake of the Nisshin Maru are the Japanese vessels Shonan Maru 2, Yushin Maru 1 and Yushin Maru 2. There is no sign of the Yushin Maru 3.

Six ships, two from Sea Shepherd and four vessels from the Japanese fleet, are heading at full speed northeastwardly.

"Not a single whale has died since the Bob Barker intercepted the fleet at 0100 Hours on February 6th. It is now the third day that the whaling fleet has been unable to kill a whale. We intend to turn these three whaling free days into three whaling free weeks," said Captain Paul Watson. "I am confident that once again we will severely cut their kill quotas and we will once again negate their profits."

The Steve Irwin and the Bob Barker have enough fuel to pursue the whaling fleet for another month.

"It does not matter where they go, east or west along the Antarctic Coast," said Steve Irwin 1st Officer Locky MacLean. "We intend to stick to their rear like glue and we will not allow a single whale to be loaded onto the decks of that foul floating abattoir."

There are 41 crew (29 men and 12 women) on board the Steve Irwin from Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Estonia, France, Japan, Hungary, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States (15 nationalities).

Bob Barker Rammed by Illegal Whaler

At 1209 PM Fremantle, Australia time, the Yushin Maru 3 intentionally rammed the Sea Shepherd ship Bob Barker, penetrating it's hull and endangering the lives of it¹s crew. The collision occurred at 65 degrees 21 South, 67 degrees 58 East, about 180 miles off Cape Darnley in the Australian Antarctic Territory.

The Bob Barker had been actively blocking the slipway of the Nisshin Maru, the Japanese whaling fleet’s factory ship when the collision occurred. Four harpoon ships, the Yushin Maru 1, 2, and 3 and Shonan Maru 2, were circling and making near passes to the stern and bow of the Sea Shepherd vessel. The Bob Barker did not move from its position. At which point, the Yushin Maru 3 intentionally rammed the Bob Barker, creating a 3-foot long 4-inch deep gash in the mid starboard side of the Sea Shepherd vessel above the waterline.

No crew was injured during the collision. The Bob Barker continues to block the slipway of the Nisshin Maru, preventing the transfer of slaughtered whales and effectively shutting down illegal whaling operations.

The incident demonstrates a continued escalation of violence by the illegal whalers in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary.

Said Captain Paul Watson from the bridge of the Steve Irwin, currently en route to join the action, “Because the whalers got away basically scot-free with the outrageous sinking of the Ady Gil, they now apparently think they can do whatever they want and they appear to have no qualms about endangering Sea Shepherd crew. What we really need is for the governments of Australia and New Zealand to step up and start enforcing maritime laws in these waters, or who know what the whalers will do next. Australian and New Zealand lives are at risk every day in these waters."

The crew of the Bob Barker noticed that the Yushin Maru 3 stopped moving in the water shortly after the impact, and appeared to be falling behind as the Bob Barker maintained its position on the stern of the Nisshin Maru. It’s possible the Yushin Maru 3 damaged itself in the collision.

The Japanese whalers are far more aggressive this year than in past campaigns.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society — South Park "Whale Whores"

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society

Fears, Jeers, Cheers, and Loathing for Sea Shepherd In South Park

Editorial by Captain Paul Watson

South Park WW2I knew as soon as I heard that South Park would be lampooning Sea Shepherd andWhale Wars that it would be viciously brutal. No one gets a free ride with Trey Parker and Matt Stone. But, I also knew that whatever they were planning it would be good for the whales, and that was all that I was really concerned with, so I was not disappointed.
Okay, so I get a harpoon through the head! Hey, s*@# happens!
The message came through loud and clear that the Japanese whalers and dolphin killers are out of control and need some ass whooping.
The South Park episode of “Whale Whores” was a powerful sucker punch on top of the media blows that we have been hammering the Japanese whaling industry with for the past couple of years.
First, we hit them with two seasons of Whale Wars and then Louie Psihoyos followed through with his stunningly successful documentary The Cove. Then as the Japanese government and cetacean serial killers were reeling from those cellulose blows, Captain Stan comes out of Colorado cartoon land to slam them with all the fantasy violence and ridicule they can muster, and true to form, they don’t disappoint.
My understanding is that the Japanese Prime Minister was not amused and the whalers and dolphin killers are enraged at the way they were portrayed. That’s music to my ears. If the humorless whale killers and the bank rollers of the dolphin killers did not like the show, then that’s all I need to applaud it.
I could not care less how I was personally ridiculed, lampooned, and insulted. Hell, being ridiculed, lampooned and insulted on South Park is a declaration to the world that Sea Shepherd and Whale Wars are effective and have cracked through to the other side of the media culture curtain. Yes sir, we are now on the same carnival sitting duck gallery as my old buddy Sean Penn, and Nicole Kidman’s ex-husband Tom Cruise and the Scientologists.
I get called insulting names all the time by irrelevant trolls on the internet and it’s never bothered me because I’ve always felt that no one makes any social reform progress in this world without pissing off a great many people, and the more people you piss off, the more progress you make. But it’s one thing to piss off the hoopleheads and quite another to piss off the elite in the government and the media. Pissing off the Fox Network is a piece of cake (I’ve done that a few times), but to attract the attention of Comedy Central, that’s a step up in the media food chain.
This is especially true for environmentalists and conservationists. We’re in the business of really pissing people off and I could fill a book with the letters and e-mails I’ve received threatening to kill me or just expressing their hysterical hatred for me. The pages are practically soggy from the foam dripping from their angry, drooling mouths.
And I love it. I do so love making people angry, making them think and confronting them with the ecological realities of what they are doing to this Earth and their diminishment of the wondrous diversity of species that share this planet with us.
Like Parker and Stone, I am an unashamed misanthrope and that pretty much makes me immune to criticism and ridicule.
This week the Kihansi spray toad was declared extinct. There are 17,000 species that we know of that are rapidly slipping toward oblivion. We will lose more species of plants and animals between 2000 and 2065 than the planet has lost in the last 65 million years and all because of the ecological irresponsibility of one species, my very own Homo sapien arrogantus ignoramus. So in light of this biological holocaust, I get slightly amused when anyone suggests that being ridiculed by South Park is cause for personal concern.
In fact, I think that the characters in South Park so accurately reflect the apathy and stupidity of humanity that it is downright frightening to ponder on just how close to reality the show actually is.
This particular episode of South Park titled “Whale Whores” slams the Japanese culture, but it also takes shots at American culture. It smacks down vegans and meat eaters alike, it ridicules Larry King, myself and my crew, unleashes Godzilla on the cowardly whalers, sniggers at the Hiroshima bombing, massacres the Miami Dolphins, firebombs and sinks the Nisshin Maru, kamikazes the Steve Irwin, kills off my crew, wipes out the whalers, mocks television, bitch slaps the crew of the Deadliest Catch, and does all this in a mere twenty minutes of way over the top violence, racism, sexism, and every kind of politically correct ism there is in an perverse orgy of slapstick humor supporting a ridiculously silly plotline that these pathetically successful evil geniuses manage to pull off in their particularly nasty minded manner.
In other words- it was frigging great!
South Park whale whoresAnd most importantly right there on the side of our ship in big bold cartoon characters was “www.Seashepherd.org” and they actually spelt it right. Now how in hell could I complain about that?
The audience receiving the message of the horrific and illegal slaughter of the whales and dolphins was boosted tremendously, and people who had never heard of Sea Shepherd or even Whale Wars, were introduced to us, and the issue, and that can all be summed up by saying it was one mother of a media success.
Someone told me that they thought it was overly negative that I was depicted and slandered as lying about the whales, about being shot blah, blah, blah… Of course the media culture is one big super lie so that does not bother me. The truth is the truth, but unfortunately the truth does not hold much currency these days. Lies sell and because of this, sorting out lies from truth has become impossible. Ask any politician or corporation.
Did I lie about being shot by the Japanese? No, but I can’t prove it, and if I can’t prove it then people are free to speculate all they wish. It would have helped if the Australian Federal police had done a forensic analysis of the bullet but they refused to look at it, using the excuse that they did not have jurisdiction. The Dutch where our ship is flagged did not want to see it. The Americans and the Canadians (for which I hold passports) did not want to see it. In the end I dropped it into the hands of William Petersen who plays Gil Grissom on CSI Las Vegas. He looked at it and his “expert” opinion was “yep, it looks like a bullet.” So, that’s good enough for me. Besides I know the truth and that’s all that’s important to me. I could not give a flying fig what anyone else thinks.
So if Stan wishes to call me a liar, then Stan can take a number and join the line of the multitudes who have already done so. Besides in a world where millions of people still believe that global warming is a lie, that Barack Obama does not have a birth certificate, and world leaders swear they have personal conversations with God, being called a liar carries very little weight. When you think of it, we live in a culture of lies and one person’s truth is simply another person’s lie. Sarah Palin just wrote a book full of lies and it’s a national best seller.
Are we “vegan pussies” pretending to be pirates, as the show says? It was the Japanese and Norwegians who first called us pirates, not us, but I’d rather be depicted as a “vegan pussy” than a deranged killer. It’s easy for Captain Stan to kill off the whalers in fantasyland but for those of us caught up in reality, we have to have a different set of rules and our first concern is that no one gets hurt and the second is that we stay out of jail. Unlike Stan and the boys, we can’t write our way out of the hoosegow.
Our campaigns to the Southern Ocean have been and are being effective. We have managed to cut kill quotas nearly in half, and we have prevented the taking of 90% of the Fin whale quota. We have cost the Japanese whaling fleet loss profits for three years running and we have publicized the illegal slaughter of whales and dolphins by Japanese whalers globally and much to the embarrassment of the Japanese government. We know what we’ve achieved and with that knowledge we can sit back and laugh at ourselves and at the whalers and enjoy the parody.
Whale Wars has made us stronger, and as I predicted before the airing of South Park, Stan’s temporary fantasy takeover of my ship has brought us even more support.
As we prepare to return to the Southern Ocean for the sixth campaign to oppose the Japanese whalers, we have made sure to pack a DVD of South Park for the amusement of the crew and I’m thinking we should catapult a few copies onto the deck of the Japanese whaling boats to lower their morale.
I can’t help thinking just how funny it is that Dutch board member Alex Cornelissen, who will be accompanying me on this next campaign, with a sailors toque on his head, looks a little like Captain Stan from South Park. Maybe things will get a little more lively, who knows, we’ll have to wait and see.
That bloody harpoon gave my big head a big headache, but like Kenny, I’m back and ready to rock and roll back on down to the Southern Ocean to toss butter bombs and more at those funny but deadly sushi-eating whale killers on the whaling ships.
So folks, stay tuned for Season Three of Whale Wars on Animal Planet and Discovery.

Sea Shepherd adds speed to counter Japanese whalers

The Animal Planet program “Whale Wars” is already one of the more controversial shows on television, chronicling the travails of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society as it pits its motley volunteer navy against Japanese whalers hunting in the iceberg-strewn Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary in the Antarctic Ocean.
But Season 3 of the show is about to get even more interesting. At a Sea Shepherd fundraiser on Oct. 17, the society unveiled its new boat, the frankly menacing-looking tri-hull speedster formerly known as Earthracer. The spidery craft has been renamed the Ady Gil in tribute to the Hollywood businessman who helped acquire the vessel and cut the society a million-dollar check. It has been painted black and festooned with the skull-and-crossbones, and will join the Sea Shepherd vessel Steve Irwin when the Antarctic campaign begins anew in December.
The Ady Gil can attain speeds of 50 knots and currently holds a world speed record for circumnavigating the Earth in 60 days.
“Now we can intercept those harpoon boats,” Watson told a crowd gathered at the Hollywood Hills home of philanthropist James Costa. “We’ve already cut their [whaling] quota to 50%, and this year we’re going to get to 80%.”
For six years, Sea Shepherd has routinely harassed the factory vessel Nisshin Maru and other Japanese vessels engaged in whaling under a clause in an International Whaling Commission treaty that bans commercial whaling but allows for limited research whaling. Japan is a signatory to the treaty but Sea Shepherd claims Japan's whaling is not for research but rather commercial in nature and is therefore illegal. As much as the Sea Shepherd activists have irritated the Japanese vessels, however, they never had a vessel fast enough to keep up with Japanese harpoon boats. Until now.
“We’re speaking the language that the Japanese whaler understands: profit and loss,” Watson said. “For the last few years, they’ve made no money. Give us one more year and we can bankrupt them.”
The Japanese Fisheries Agency, which monitors the whaling, did not reply to phone and fax messages in Japan. However, its support of whaling is well-documented, best articulated by statements on its website such as: “Those members of the IWC who are opposed to the sustainable use of whale resources and who try to impose their views on the rest of the world are subverting the purpose of the treaty and have caused the IWC to become dysfunctional. Their position is contrary to scientific finding and the widely accepted principle of sustainable use.”
Said Costa, “When I went to Antarctica, I thought that this is a place where humans don’t belong. I am so grateful to Paul Watson and others who do something to get people the hell out of there.”
Actress and activist Daryl Hannah voiced the opinion of many at the gathering when she said, “Sea Shepherd is one of the few great environmental organizations around. They don’t spend their budgets talking and messaging and putting out calendars. They get out there and do the work and actually stop hunting and poaching and fishing. They put their bodies on the line.” Hannah worked 18 days on the Sea Shepherd ships last season in Antarctica.
A clearly excited Ady Gil said of Watson, “This man is like the Mother Teresa of the oceans.” He had the crowd laughing at his own story of transformation to animal rights activism, then said, “I have to tell you, this is a bad-ass ship. It’s a little rough inside, it needs some pimping.”
He then proceeded to lead a live auction to raise money for fuel and a few improvements to the ship.
In 2008, Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun reported that Japan had lowered the annual quote for minke whales from 945 to 750. The fleet continues to also hunt 50 endangered fin whales annually.
